High end weddings are almost always at a large venue, but this couple chose to celebrate in their gorgeous backyard, while keeping all of the style of an extravagant wedding location!
Brides making a style splash are very attentive to detail and artistry, and Angel was no exception. She and her fiance, Scott, had hoped for a larger wedding like most brides in 2020, but coronavirus and the pandemic guidelines made them rethink their plans. Accomplished entertainers, they have always been able to plan amazing gatherings of family and friends, often focused on food, since Angel is an extraordinary cook! Armed with recipes from Louisiana, she has been wowing her guests with menus that would make Paula Deen jealous! Coupled with a knack for design and event planning, and a fashion sense second to none, Angel was in the perfect position to make her new intimate wedding plans the party of the year in her circle!
Her cake, made by Natalie Bryn of Cake Envy in Cumming, Georgia, was a 3 tier, all-white buttercream cake with hand painted petals and a monogram freehand piped on the center tier. It was decorated with extravagant sugar flowers, including roses, of course! The cake itself was a vanilla layer cake with fruit filling and melt-in-your-mouth white chocolate mousse. The display was stunning in front of their 2 story mantel, and the candlelight added to the stunning elegance of the entire arrangement.
Natural beauty was the theme for decor inside the bright and airy home, with the two open staircases and the fireplace mantel full of simple, winding Southern Smilax vines, and accented with table arrangements of white roses, hydrangea, ranunculus, lisianthus and greenery. Outdoor arrangements included urns to flank a long staircase and a floral arch including roses, astilbe, dahlias and fragrant jasmine! It looked like it came straight from an English Garden! Simple white folding chairs were placed on the lawn, and white paper lanterns hung in the trees and glowed dimly as evening fell. Her bouquet was all white, and included her favorite sweet peas, lisianthus, and orchid florets. Allison Schrade of Bantam and Bloom created these floral masterpieces!
The bride’s design influence came directly from the aforementioned English Garden aesthetic, and petals were placed for guests to throw as they walked back down the aisle, with a kiss and dip for good measure, of course! Her dress was a perfect A line vintage style dress, custom made for her by Ruthy of Ruthy’s Creations of Pensacola, Florida, with tiers of satin and tulle. A long sleeve dress for this September wedding had an overlay of tulle with oval polka dot detail and scalloped edging all around the neckline, sleeves and hem. This was handstitched by the seamstress, and handmade embroidery was tacked to the dress by hand, as well. The dress was boat necked and fitted snugly to the waist with a narrow band of ribbon and a tiny, simple bow in the center. A veil was made by the seamstress to accent the flower theme, with an avant garde pouf and tails of tulle trailing down. A sleek up do with a modern bun held the white floral headpiece in place. High fashion was everywhere in her personal styling. Beautiful nude heels from Bella Belle were the foundation and completion of her classic silhouette. The groom and groomsmen wear also dressed in classic attire for the occasion in black Armani tuxedos with ivory ties. The bridesmaids wore blush and floral dresses of crepe and light silk with shoes from Badgley Mischka, looking elegant with a touch of feminine softness. Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry fragrance was worn by the bride. Her ring was custom made with emeralds flanking a gorgeous emerald cut diamond, and the wedding band was made to match with a row of smaller emerald cut diamonds. The groom’s brushed platinum wedding band complimented the set.
