Sweet Amelia’s first birthday was coming up, and her mom, a wedding cake baker, got in touch to schedule a cake smash for her! I was so excited to have the chance to take these photos for them! Jennifer Watts is the owner of Zell’s Cottage Bakery in Gainesville, Georgia, and recently won the title of Best Baker in Georgia!! She is so creative, and of course, the cake had to be her creation. It is a brilliant fault line cake with piped roses and gold details! We coordinated the colors for all the props, wardrobe and the cake to make the images as beautiful as possible for them to treasure forever. Working with a fellow creative made it so easy!

Every one of the images we got represents the laid back and happy family they are. Amelia knows she isn’t to touch her mommy’s wedding cakes at home, so she wasn’t sure if she should test out the cake, but in the end, she got a few handfuls of frosting and you can see she loved it! Dad was wonderful, and we were able to get some Daddy/daughter moments, too!

The greenhouse, sunflowers, rustic barn and quilt brought so much character to every image, it was hard to choose for this blog post! I love to find these kinds of venues – the small fee to use the property was well worth it, I think.
